We invite you to attend Part 2 of this educational initiative organized jointly by the International Society of Endocrinology (ISE) and the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) as part of our mutual commitment to advance the management of overlapping endocrinology and kidney diseases worldwide.
Join nephrologist Natasha Rogers (Australia) and endocrinologist Pankaj Shah (USA) in a case-based educational session that will cover:
  • Management of hyperglycemia/diabetes in patients awaiting transplant
  • Transient hyperglycemia after transplant
    o    Identifying candidates likely to need insulin treatment in hospital
    o    Differentiate between transient hyperglycemia and diabetes
    o    Does aggressive management prevent future Post-Transplant Diabetes Mellitus (PTDM)?
  • Definition and monitoring of PTDM
  • How does PTDM impact on survival post-transplant?
  • Reducing the Risk of PTDM
    o    Lifestyle measures
    o    Modifying immune modulators
    o    Non-transplant measures
  • Managing other metabolic risk factors post-transplant including hyperlipidemia + obesity
This session will be chaired and moderated by nephrologist Angela Wang (Hong Kong) and endocrinologist Vivien Lim (Singapore)
